Diagnosis or cause of accident
Crushed by a fall of earth on the 23rd September and died in Perth after several operations and amputation of his leg. He suffered a crushed pelvis, hip and wrist; gangrene had set in prior to his operation. He died in a private hospital in Perth.

At a second inquest heard by Mr. Harwood. Alva Thomas Pearson. district medical officer gave evidence that Michael Dennis Cronin (50). miner of Big Bell, died of respiratory failure from collapse of the lungs, a contributory cause being silicosis, after he had been injured at the Big Bell mine in October last year. He was brought to Perth for an operation and died in October after a second operation. Bet. L. H. Scott assisted the District Coroner in both cases and Mr. J. Walsh represented the Australian Workers' Union In the latter.
