Diagnosis or cause of accident
Fletcher of the Public Battery, who was returning home, was thrown from a sulky, and injured by the wheel passing over his abdomen. The internal injury necessitated a serious surgical operation, which was performed by the local doctor, Dr. Crooke, and a doctor from Leonora. Fletcher died in the Lawler's Hospital. Cause of death Toxaemia.
