Mr David Poole, a crane driver at Placer Dome Asia Pacific’s Granny Smith mine, died in hospital from medical complications that resulted from a fractured pelvis sustained in a fall from the deck of his crane nine days prior. He had been working on the crane deck when he lost his balance and fell 1.7 metres to the ground.
