Depressed fracture of the skull: It was customary for the men to ride in the trucks in a lying position so that they were below the level of the sides. On the date in question Burge and another man named Edwards were travelling in this manner. When the train started witness saw that both men were in a safe position. He watched the trucks as the train proceeded and as they were entering the No. 15 (south) chute Burge lifted his head and was struck by the mouth of the chute. The driver stopped the train and went to Burge, who appeared to be seriously injured.

" Fatal Accident at Triton Mine—A fatal accident occurred at Reedy on Saturday last, the victim being Irwin Harold Burge, an employee of Triton Gold Mines N.L. From the details available it would appear that Burge was riding on an ore truck and lifted his lu-ad as the truck was passing under a low portion in the roof of the drive, the result being that he was killed instantly.
The deceased man Is survived by a widow and three children. The funeral took place in the Anglican Cemetery at Cue on Sunday last and was attended by a large number of the deceased's workmates and residents of Reedy, the service at the graveside being conducted by Mr. G. Pearson. The casket-bearers were Messrs. 15. Monks, J. Greenwood, A. O'Brien and .T. Hamilton, and the pall-bearers were Messrs. R. McGillivray, H. Glanfield. G. Cook, L. Rlnaldl, J. McGee and W. McGillivray. Included in the floral tributes laid upon the grave were those from the management of Triton Gold Mine N.L., associates of Triton Golf Club, members of Triton Tennis Club, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. McLeod, Mr. and Mrs. Hutchinson and family, Sandy and Harry, Dolly and Mick and Jess. Ruby and Clem and Flo, Betty and Dave Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. R. McGillivray. Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien and family, Andy and Milton, and Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs and family.
