Diagnosis or cause of accident
Another fatal accident occurred on the Lake View on Saturday morning, when a miner named Robert McClelland was crushed to death beneath a fall of earth. McClelland and his mate, Walter John Newbold, were working at the 2100ft. level when the fall occurred, and both were more or less buried. When extricated. McClelland was dead and Newbold very badly hurt. Walter John Newbould died five days later.
